As far as I remember, files like

infoLayer_limeLevel.png

infoLayer_plowLevel.png

infoLayer_rollerLevel.png

infoLayer_sprayLevel.png

infoLayer_stubbleShredLevel.png

infoLayer_weed.png

used PNG format in FS22, but for some reason, FS25 says they are obsolete files and asks to convert them to dds format. Is this critical, and do I really need to convert them to dds or can I leave them in png format?

always check the base game files

👍Very reasonable. I'll take note.

But "The grle converter converts GIANTS density maps (grle and gdm) to png files
so that they can be edited in any generic image editing tool.
The png file can then be loaded directly in to the GIANTS Engine again."

Apologise I was thinking of the  https://github.com/Paint-a-Farm/grleconvert version.

Sorry. I didn't understand how to use this.😂

I simply opened the map in an editor, changed the file extensions, and saved the map in the editor. Right? 😃

I hope the editor saved everything correctly. However, all of these files are still empty, I didn't use them yet. At least I'm not annoyed by error messages anymore.😃

You don't have to use the Paint a farm grleconvert version, I only mentioned it because that was the version I remeber did convert the png back to the grle/gedm format.

You will note that the files you listed in your first post cannot be changed in GE using the infoLayer panel

Basically the files in the maps data folder will only be changed if the map has been edited and saved in GE all other ingame changes (terrain adjustments, weeds, plowing.lime etc) will be saved in the maps savegame folder

Ah! Ok, thanks.

Well, I launched the game, it scolded me for the wrong files, created its own correct ones, I saved them, and then placed them in the data folder. So everything works now.
