MaloyXXV Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Hey community, I have a problem where when I go into the Giants Editor and build my map, everything runs very smoothly for the first 5-10 minutes. However, as soon as I'm in the editor for a longer time (about 5-10 minutes), it lags extremely and feels like I'm only getting 20-25 FPS. I have an RTX 3080 and 32GB DDR5 RAM and an i9 14900k. Does anyone know the problem and can help me?

WrinkleysRule Posted October 8 Posted October 8 There appears to be nothing in your log that could cause the drop in FPS. However this stuttering/fps drop can be caused by the shader_cache sometimes being a bit slow in updating when doing large amoumnts of detail (foliage/texture/deformation etc). You could try deleting the shader_cach folder at C:\Users\your computer name\AppData\Local\GIANTS Editor 64bit 10.0.8 It will rebuild when GE next used. Also the 2^n texture error is due to the image you are using being the wrong size, All textures used in FS have to adhere to the 2^n size i,e 32 x32, 64 x 64, 128 x 128, 256 x 256, 512 x512 ,1024 x 1024 and so on doubling each time. 1
