MaloyXXV Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 Hey community, I have a problem where when I go into the Giants Editor and build my map, everything runs very smoothly for the first 5-10 minutes. However, as soon as I'm in the editor for a longer time (about 5-10 minutes), it lags extremely and feels like I'm only getting 20-25 FPS. I have an RTX 3080 and 32GB DDR5 RAM and an i9 14900k. Does anyone know the problem and can help me?

WrinkleysRule Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 There appears to be nothing in your log that could cause the drop in FPS. However this stuttering/fps drop can be caused by the shader_cache sometimes being a bit slow in updating when doing large amoumnts of detail (foliage/texture/deformation etc). You could try deleting the shader_cach folder at C:\Users\your computer name\AppData\Local\GIANTS Editor 64bit 10.0.8 It will rebuild when GE next used. Also the 2^n texture error is due to the image you are using being the wrong size, All textures used in FS have to adhere to the 2^n size i,e 32 x32, 64 x 64, 128 x 128, 256 x 256, 512 x512 ,1024 x 1024 and so on doubling each time. 1
