deadlydu Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Hello there! I'm new at creating maps and looking for someone to help me out with some things. Like setting height to a spline. I have created a new spline and with the "spline height panels 25" script I'm hoping to raise the terrain among that spline line. But when I do, I get cone shapes on every spline point (see images). Looking forward to get some help! Thank you!
WrinkleysRule Posted January 4 Posted January 4 You haven't specified any Centre Width, as you are new I suggest you have a look at the tutorials for these scripts which explain how to use them
deadlydu Posted January 4 Author Posted January 4 I have tried to specify centre width, but that also didn't work (played with all variables, none made any difference). I also looked into all the tutorials before coming here to ask for some help.
WrinkleysRule Posted January 4 Posted January 4 No problem in setting the height using that script, But I have just noticed you have somehow managed to Scale the spline (This section is normally greyed out so adjustment cannot be made) , a spline should not have any Rotation or Scale if any is set then you must Freeze Transform both Rotation and Scale Edit - Freeze Tansformations -- and select Rotation and Scale (NOT translate)
deadlydu Posted January 4 Author Posted January 4 Thank you very, very much! I tested it and it works!
WrinkleysRule Posted January 4 Posted January 4 How did you manage to scale the spline as it cannot be done in directly Giants Editor??
deadlydu Posted January 4 Author Posted January 4 good question, I did create it in GE, afterwards I was trying a zillion things, I moved it with the cursor also, idk if that maybe scaled it? Program has crashed a few times while I was testing different things. This is the 3rd spline I have made I think, I'll try to repeat some moves I can remember I made and maybe find how I scaled it. edit: I found out how, look at the image, in the yellow circle you'll see a red square, when you just create a spline and start pulling that red square it scales it.
WrinkleysRule Posted January 4 Posted January 4 I see, thats interesting and is going to cause a few problems if not addressed by Freeze Transformating before using any scripts, in Giants Editor 9.0.6 you could only move the spline . This probably a result of the scaling being allowed on the SpineSurface mesh and Giants not restricting it when using a normal spline.
